Since its start in 2017, GenderOpen has focused on making openly accessible gender research from German speaking countries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In light of current developments, particularly in the US, we want to help securing access to research by offering our services to researches from gender and women\u2019s studies, trans studies, diversity and intersectionality studies that feel that access to their research is under thread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you run a working paper series or an open access journal whose access is currently under threat, please contact us at <a href=\"mailto:info@genderopen.de\">info@genderopen.de<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The types of texts that GenderOpen accepts and makes accessible are:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>journal articles,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>papers in edited volumes or proceedings,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>doctoral dissertations,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>monographs,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>working papers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These text types have already been subjected to quality assurance, and GenderOpen does not carry out an additional evaluation of the content of submissions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideally, the version deposited in GenderOpen should be the original published one, but we also accept authors\u2019 preprint or postprint versions. We recommend that you use a version with pagination corresponding to the published version. Moreover, the contribution must be available as a PDF file free of technical security restrictions, or even better as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pdfa.org\/pdf-a-for-dummies\/\">PDF\/A<\/a> file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Terms and Conditions for Uploading Texts to GenderOpen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To upload a publication to GenderOpen, authors must be able to grant the repository the rights to a secondary publication under a Creative Commons license. This requires consideration of the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Author Rights: If the authors hold the rights to their publication, all co-authors must provide their consent for the upload.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Third-Party Rights: If the rights are held by a publisher or an institution, permission from the rights holder must be obtained before depositing the text.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previously Open Access Publications: If the publication was already made available as an Open Access publication, it may be uploaded, provided that the chosen license allows for redistribution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, authors should ensure that their submission complies with any applicable legal and contractual obligations, such as embargo periods or specific publisher policies on self-archiving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Information for Authors and Institutions Facing Barriers to Sharing Their Research GenderOpen is a repository for gender research based in Germany.
